ULTRASOUND
Our ultrasound screening is considered to educate patients on the benefits of preventative health care. The non-invasive, radiation-free screening technology provides clear pictures of your body internally which can enable you to be better informed when making decisions on the future path of your health care.
Ideally our goal is to screen everyone who enters our clinic as a preventative measure and have a baseline for the future as well as to catch early signs of disease before it becomes problematic or symptomatic. It is never too early to start to take care of your health or get a baseline of your “normal”. Oftentimes patients come in having experienced symptoms for year with no answers and within minutes we can discover clues as to why or what is causing the symptoms.
All organs or tissues have “normal” appearances, measurements, and functions. This technology can detect abnormalities immediately and help you make life saving decisions regarding your health. Patients are given a report of the findings and recommendations for further medical evaluation if deemed necessary. The screening may last between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the health of the patient. We ask that patients come for the ultrasound screening well hydrated, avoiding food for at least 6 hours prior to the screening, and wearing loose clothes.
Tissues, organs or organ systems screened include:
- Lymphatic system – Lymph nodes in the neck, thorax, abdomen
- Cardiovascular system – Carotids, Abdominal Aorta, Heart, Popliteal Arteries
- Thyroid
- Liver
- Gall Bladder
